Tired Eyes? Best Under-Eye Treatments Without Surgery

Do your eyes give away how tired you feel, or worse, make you look exhausted even when you’re not? Maybe it’s dark circles that never fade, morning puffiness that lingers, or hollow under-eyes that cast shadows no concealer can cover.

For many people, “tired eyes” aren’t about lack of sleep; they’re about real skin and structural changes that can’t be fixed with just creams, serums, or a good night’s sleep. At LiveWell, we offer medical-grade treatments for tired eyes so you can restore a brighter, refreshed look.

What Causes Tired Eyes?

Tired eyes don’t always come from lack of sleep. For some, it’s dark circles caused by thin skin or pigmentation that makes the under-eyes look shadowed. For others, it’s puffiness from allergies, salt, or fluid retention that makes the eyes look swollen.

It could also be caused by aging. Over time, we lose collagen and fat under the eyes, leading to hollows, wrinkles, and sagging that can make you look more tired than you feel. Genetics and bone structure can also add to the problem.

Why Does Nothing Seem to Work for Me?

Many people feel frustrated when eye creams and serums don’t deliver the results they expect. The truth is, most tired-eye concerns, like hollows, bags, or deep wrinkles, aren’t caused by surface issues alone. Skincare can help improve texture, hydration, and mild discoloration, but it can’t replace lost volume or lift sagging skin.

That’s why real change often requires medical-grade treatments such as fillers, lasers, or PRF, which target the structural causes. If nothing seems to work, it’s not because you’re doing something wrong. It’s because the issue goes deeper than what topical products can reach.

How to Rejuvenate Tired Eyes

Advanced treatments can target the real causes of tired eyes. At LiveWell Medical Aesthetics, we offer four proven options to restore a refreshed look: PRF, PDGF, fillers, and medical-grade skincare. Each treatment works differently, but all are designed to address the underlying issues that make eyes look worn out.

PRF

PRF, or platelet-rich fibrin, is a treatment that uses your body’s own growth factors to naturally rejuvenate the under-eye area. A small amount of your blood is drawn, spun down, and the PRF is carefully injected under the eyes. Unlike creams that only work on the surface, PRF stimulates collagen production, improves skin quality, and increases circulation.

For tired eyes, this means smoother skin, less crepiness, and a healthier under-eye color over time. By strengthening and regenerating the tissue, PRF reduces the shadowy look, softens fine lines, and brightens the overall tone.

PDGF

PDGF, or platelet-derived growth factor, is another regenerative treatment that uses your body’s own healing proteins to restore the under-eye area. When we apply (through microneedling) or inject PDGF under the eyes, it encourages collagen remodeling and new capillary growth.

For tired eyes, it addresses the root issues like thinning skin, poor circulation, and loss of firmness. PDGF also has a higher concentration than PRP/PRF. Meaning, your skin receives a more powerful signal to regenerate.

Fillers

One of the biggest reasons eyes look tired is volume loss. As the skin thins and fat shifts with age, hollows form under the eyes and cast shadows that you can’t cover with concealers.

At LiveWell, we use hyaluronic acid fillers and biostimulatory fillers like Radiesse and Juvederm to restore that lost volume. By filling in the hollows and smoothing the transition between your lower eyelid and cheek, fillers soften shadows and instantly make the under-eye area look brighter and more awake.

Fillers work especially well if your “dark circles” are really caused by shadowing, not pigmentation. Results are immediate, last for months, and give you a refreshed look without surgery. For many patients, it’s the first time they finally feel like their eyes match how rested they actually feel.

Medical-Grade Skincare

At LiveWell, we also use advanced skincare treatments to brighten, smooth, and rejuvenate the delicate under-eye area. Each of these treatments is highly customizable to target specific skin issues and can be combined with injectables like PRF, PDGF, or fillers for even better results.

DiamondGlow Facial

This treatment exfoliates, extracts, and infuses medical-grade serums all at once. For tired eyes, that means improving circulation, hydrating dry or crepey skin, and instantly giving the under-eye area a brighter, more refreshed glow.

Aerolase® NEO

This gentle laser targets pigmentation and vascular issues, two of the biggest culprits behind dark under-eyes. By reducing discoloration and stimulating collagen, Aerolase helps lighten dark circles and improve overall skin tone.

Professional Peel

Chemical peels resurface the skin to reduce discoloration and boost cell turnover. For tired eyes, a peel can help lighten stubborn pigmentation, smooth rough texture, and improve the way makeup sits under the eyes.

How Is PRF Different from PRP?

The main difference is how they’re processed. PRP is spun at high speeds and often mixed with additives, which causes the growth factors to release all at once. PRF is spun more slowly without additives, leaving a higher concentration of platelets, white blood cells, and stem cells in a natural fibrin matrix.

PRF stays active longer after it’s injected, releasing growth factors gradually to rebuild skin strength, improve circulation, and thicken delicate under-eye tissue. This makes PRF a more natural and effective option than traditional PRP.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do under-eye fillers last?

Most hyaluronic acid fillers last 6–12 months under the eyes. Biostimulatory fillers like Radiesse can last longer because they also stimulate collagen production.

How many PRF or PDGF treatments will I need?

Results from PRF or PDGF build gradually. Most patients start with a series of 3-4 sessions spaced a few weeks apart, followed by maintenance treatments as needed.

Are under-eye treatments safe?

When performed by licensed, experienced injectors and estheticians, treatments like fillers, PRF, PDGF, and lasers are safe and effective. At LiveWell, all treatments are performed by certified professionals who specialize in facial rejuvenation.

When should I consider surgery?

Most patients get great results with fillers, PRF, PDGF, or skincare. Surgery is only considered if you have large fat pads or very loose skin that non-surgical treatments can’t correct. In that case, a blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery may be the better option.
